The better waves for the surfers are Sao Conrado, left corner, but whit 3 mts. of waves, even in the Copacabana beach you can see a lot of surfers practicing your sport. Some spots to see are: in the Pier of Leblon, Arpoador beach, Fort of Copacabana, Leme beach, Prainha, Grumari and Macumba.
