New option to known the carioca culture

What do you think about staying in a poor community of Rio de Janeiro? This is something new arriving in Rio. Now with the pacified favelas the cariocas start to discover the big houses that were constructed before the creation of the communities from the 60's to the 80's. This is how the first hostels in the favelas were created.

Now they are more than one hostel, and there you can see and live the way of life of the people of the community. You can find it, in Cantagalo (Copacabana); Chapéu Mangueira (Leme); and the new one in Pavãozinho.

In any hostel, you have the oportunity to stay there and enjoy the offers: the sightseeing, drinks, music. How you will see, each hostel are creating differente products, like big parties, music and brazilian cook lessons.

The new way to view Rio

With the police inside the favelas, Rio started a new period of peace and entertainment. Now the attraction is up on the pacified favela and enjoy the music and the people. The favela Santa Marta, located in Botafogo, is the best exemple of it, with a program of concerts and carnival. This favelas is known it because Michael Jackson made a clip on there.

The better carnival is on the street, and will be in the favela of: Santa Marta (12/03), Pavao-Pavaozinho  e Cantagalo  (06/03) , Babilônia e Chapéu Mangueira (08/03), Ladeira dos Tabajaras (08/03), Providência (08/03), Formiga (20/02), Salgueiro (26/02) e Borel (08/03).

The people will walk on the streets of the neighborhood, but they will start and finish in front of the favela. The bolo Pela Saco of Santa Marta will walk in the streets Voluntários da Pátria and Sao Clemente. In the favela of Cocapacaba, Ladeira dos Tabajaras, the group will have the participate of the police volunteer that will play trumpet.

The first saturday of each month every one can enjoy the samba of Santa Marta favela.

Today Rio de Janeiro start a new period. Moment of peace and to enjoy the night of samba in the favelas.
