The Atlantic be anywhere. This is one of the particularity of Rio, the shore break of the coast have a lot of option to get fun. Could be in Grumari, Prainha, Macumba, Recreio, Reserva, Barra, Joatinga, Sao Conrado, Leblon, Ipanema, Arpoador, Copacabana, Leme, Praia Vermelha, even in the Guanabara Bay someone saw some surfer there.

The independence day in Rio de Janeiro

In the day of Independece of Brazil, in Rio de Janeiro the parade is in the sea. 7 of september is national holiday, but don´t much people go to the military parade allround the country, most prefer to travel and go to the beach, and that's why the inovation of the brazilian marine.

They start in Barra da Tijuca and will go to Leme beach, everybody can enjoy in the morning of wednesday the better military show of Brazil, the Navy Parade.

In the sky of the Barra beach, the show come from the kite surfers, that are all around the sea jumping the waves. The point is in front of a popular beach, the Pepê. There you can find artists and models of the brazilian scenario.

The Barra da Tijuca have the largest beach in Rio, that's why, is one of the favorite place for the pratice of surf, there is where the World Champion (WCT) happens. But be carefull, the sea could be dangerous that because of the open sea and the strenght of the waves.

Uma das praias mais extensas e com as águas mais limpas do Rio de Janeiro. Por mais que Copacabana siga sendo a princesinha de Rio, é a Barra da Tijuca que sigue atraindo mais cariocas, pela extensão da praia, 8 kilômetros, qualidade da água, e pelas opções de esportes aquáticos, como surf e kitesurf.

Um dos grandes problemas da Barra sigue sendo a comunicação, já que os moradores siguem sofrendo problemas no trânsito nas possíveis vias de acesso, como elevado do Joá e Linha Amarela. Mas o final de semana na Barra é uma festa, com discotecas, bares e claro a praia, sempre cheios. A grande atração de consumo do bairro sigue sendo o Barra Shopping, ainda mais em época de verão com todos fugindo do calor.

Protegida pela Pedra da Gávea, também é um bairro associado ao esporte, e uma das atividades dos jovens, além do skate e surf os mais habituais, também os podem encontrar subindo a grande pedra, o que daria em torno a 2 horas caminhando, e a vista recompensa sim. Só nao é recomendável para quem tem medo de altura, já que em um momento da subida é necessário bastante cuidado, mas com calma e determinação fica tudo mais fácil.

The summer in Rio is time to enjoy the Sunset. To go to the beach in the afternoon and drink a cold beer there.

End of december is time of rain too, a strong and fast rain that start at 22h and stop like 24h.

Christmas in Copacabana

This year the "Brazilian Frank Sinitra" known as Roberto Carlos and called "O Rei" will play at Copacabana beach in front of Copacabana Palace Hotel. A huge stage is being built for the people to watch  from the beach.

The organization is calculating a 500 thousands espectators on the beach. The Concert will start at 21:30 and it is free!

You can get there by metro (Arco Verde Station) or walking from Ipanema.

Começou o verão no Brasil

Verão 2011 chegou...e o sinal tá na areia, com as praias cheias, o trânsito caótico e o suor que tá na cara de todos. Hoje no Rio de Janeiro chegamos a marca dos 36ºC. E tá só começando. E para os marinheiro de primeira viagem aqui vão alguns conselhos para quem vai na praia no Rio de Janeiro.

Em Copacabana, o sol nasce no leste, e já às 7:30h chega toda sua força pela intensidade da luz e o calor que transmite. O preço da cadeira e barraca, acessórios escencias em qualquer hora do dia para os banhistas, está em torno de R$4,00 cada. E a cerveja, outro acessório, nesse caso opcional, está a R$3,00. E claro não podemos esquecer de levar o protetor solar, mas isso acho que todo mundo já sabe.

Para quem quer correr na praia a melhor hora é às 7h, tem pouco fluxo de pessoas na ciclovia e fica até engraçado pelo trânsito que passa na Av. Atlântica, com milhares de pessoas indo ao trabalho.
