The June party in Brazil

Celebration that was built by the Catholic Church, the June party arrived in Brazil through the Jesuit priests during the process of colonization in the sixteenth century.



Nowadays,the celebration in the cities are regardless of the canonical connection, but in rural areas there still remaining with unaffected strong devotional sense, which has different ritual meanings according to the region of the country. This folkloric event, which spread with the Portuguese settlers had many influences - indigenous and slave - and forged a connected characteristic on the national level.
